Feed the Hungry has mobilized a 53' semi loaded with food and clothing to help hundreds affected by the deadly tornado that ripped through Parkersburg, Iowa. These items will leave the FTH warehouse in South Bend, Indiana on Wednesday morning (May 28) at 8:30am and will arrive Wednesday evening in Parkersburg at The Hope Reformed Church. Parkersburg was struck by a deadly twister which destroyed one third of the homes in this northern Iowa town. Pastor Neal Ooms said the food would be a great blessing as the town’s sole grocery store had been destroyed. A variety of ready to eat items will be shipped including: canned chicken, dry soup cups, canned soups, noodles, crackers, cookies, pasta, uhc milk (boxed-no refrigeration required), along with tortilla chips. These supplies will be distributed in partnership with the local churches. FTH is able to respond quickly to emergency situations such as this by keeping a warehouse stocked with essential non-perishable items. This is made possible by generous financial contributions and gift-in-kind donations. Your partnership with FTH is reaching out to bring comfort
and hope to those close to home. |
