Whenever it is raining, they stay helpless under the rain, and could not sleep on rainy nights. Now they moved to the house built with the help of F.G.A. relief team. They are so grateful to all those who have made it possible for them to have a new house. They used to live in bamboo house and could not even think of having a house like this one.

He and his family had lived with a neighbor's family who took pity on them for two months. With his poor income, which is not enough even for their daily survival, it is absolutely impossible for him to build a new house for his family. They have now moved to a new house built by F.G.A relief team. Now
the children feel secured in their new home. They shared their heart

helpful in their desperate situation.
Mrs. Than Nwe's Story
Mrs. Than Nwe in her new house (pictured above), South Dagon-140 Mrs. Than Nwe is a widow and lives in South Dagon-140 (0501) with her granddaughter. The granddaughter is a government servant but her small salary is not sufficient for the two persons. They barely survived their lives in the increasing price of food and other essentials even before the storm. Their house collapsed under the strong storm as the house made of thatch and bamboo could not stand the cyclone. They were in great difficulty to face their lives after the Nargis. They lived under the temporary shelter which they made with whatever is left from their old house. F.G.A team built a house for them. They are so grateful to the donors
and said that they live in a better house than they used to live before
and said that it is like a dream for them. They express their appreciation
to those who provide for their house.
Mrs. Wah's Story
Mrs. Wah and her two children with the area pastor (pictured above) in front of their new house, Seik Gyi. Mrs. Wah earns her living by selling charcoal which she collected from those charcoals dropped from the charcoal bags as the porters carry charcoal bags on ships. She has two small children. When the cyclone hit their area, their shabby house collapsed under the heavy rain and storm. When the storm subsided, the whole family is saved but they lost all they have. Since they had no place to stay, they took shelter in a primary school building. F.G.A team built a house for them and they have now moved to their
new home. They said this is the first time that they ever live in
a good house made of timber and tin roof. Their old home was a small
one made of bamboo with thatch roof. They said that they could not
even express enough their sincere thanks to all the donors who provide
them with such a good house.
Mrs. San Win's Story
Mrs. San Win (pictured above) lives with her family in Lay Daunt Kan (0601). Her husband had been sick most of the time and he could not work to provide for the family. Mrs. San Win is also not well to work. They have two children and live by the support of their married child. The younger child is living with them. Their house was damaged by the storm. For some months, they had to live in their damaged home during which time the health condition of her husband deteriorated. He died while a new house was being built by the F.G.A relief team. Mr. Myint Thein and Mrs. Mya Win's Story
Mr. Myint Thein and his family (pictured above) live in Lay Daunt Kan (0601). They have four children. Mr. Myint Thein does all kinds of job he can find in order to support his family. Sometimes, he works on a truck that carries stones used for building roads. He also works as a laborer in building houses. His income is not enough for his big family. When the storm destroyed their shabby house, he did not have any money to rebuild a house. They used the tarpaulin sheet given by F.G.A team to make a temporary shelter. When the F.G.A team built a house for them with concrete foundation, wooden floor, and tin roof they do not know how to express their gratitude for having such a good house. They said they could never have afforded to build such a house. Their children are so happy in their new home.
Mr. Tha Cho's Story
Mr. Tha Cho lives with his family (pictured above) in Aung San (2801). He has two children. They live in a rented house. That house was so old and in bad condition even before the storm came. The cyclone just easily devoured that old house leaving them to stay under the open sky. They stay under plastic sheet used as roof which could not fully protect them whenever the rain is heavy. Mr. Tha Cho could not work regularly because of his poor health. Under such circumstances to rebuild a house is out question for them. Seeing their desperate need, the F.G.A team built a new house for
this family. It is the very first time that they ever own a house.
This new house is much better than the house that they rent. They
thank all the donors for making their dream come true.
China Update Thank you for your generous response to help the people in the Chinese province of Sichuan who lived through the devastating earthquake that killed over 87,000 people, including 11,000 children while they were at school.
The aftermath of this tragedy left 375,000 people injured and forced 1.5 million to relocate. Countless people were collapsed with grief over losing a loved one, in too many cases it was an only child.
FTH Hong Kong Director Armanda da Roza, rushed into the disaster area with a team of 27, 11 of whom were doctors, bringing much needed medical supplies and hope.
They worked with local churches to distribute food, water, temporary shelters and other relief items such as umbrellas, crutches, and walkers for the elderly. They supported tent schools with resources and manpower. They visited people in the hospitals and comforted survivors who still live in the streets because they are afraid their home will collapse on them overnight.
Even as late as August 30th, an earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale, followed by 439 aftershocks (one registering 5.7 on the Richter) were still ravaging the region.
