APRIL 2006

Dominican Republic/Haitian refugees (July) Brazil - waiting for the 'green light'... we'll be sending one container of rice & beans to an apostolic ministry doing a pioneering work among unreached, primitive, tribal groups deep in the Amazon basin; possibly India... purchasing bulk foods in country for ongoing feeding/evangelism/discipleship ministry to approximately 1,000 abandoned/destitute/neglected/orphaned children.

Feed the Hungry - Boy Eating Haiti
The Lord opened up a "Divine Connection" regarding Haiti with Bobby Burnette. He and his wife Sherry have lived in Haiti as full-time missionaries since 1991... you may never meet a more sensitive man! We loaded two containers for Haiti in the third week of March food will be going to Fond Parisien; they have built 10 rural schools and feed about 3,000 children a main meal every day at their feeding centers; they have quite an intensive ministry - www.loveachild.com; we have had several 'unfavorable' experiences getting containers into Haiti in the past... thank the LORD for connecting FTH with Love A Child!

Kenya
On Friday, March 31st we shipped one container of 270,864 meals to Kenya (separate from the April appeal). The shipping/in-country cost estimate is around $8,500 and we need people to help us sponsor a container!

Cambodia
Four containers of rice (180,000 lbs.) will be heading to Cambodia in April 2006. The rice will be going to assist the ministry work of missionary Ted Olbrich and Foursquare Children of Promise; Ted has had fantastic results in Cambodia... they have quite a unique model of planting churches & obeying James 1:27... every church they build is two or more stories; first floor is the worship hall, floors above are orphan homes which are run by Christian widows. The ministry feeds about 3,500 orphans and 500 widows every day. Here are some comments from FCP:

"Our kids...100% receive Christ, 60 % want to enter ministry, and they are never forced. They literally live in the church; they have daily devotions, and weekly fasting and worship/prayer night. They pray for the sick, cast out demons, and do ministry that amazes adults. Most serve in some church leadership role at an early age. They become worship leaders, Sunday school teachers, do maintenance, evangelize their public schools, etc. More than ten have already become pastors!"
