At present 17 widows are being cared for through the Katherine Hoover Society Service Center in Andre Pradesh, South India.  These women have no family to care for them, and no job skills or physical ability to work for their own survival.
Jyothimma is one of the widows at the home.  She is handicapped and lost her right hand in train accident. One of the local pastors found her and brought her to the KHSSC where they took her in and gave her a home.

Yasodamma is an orphan widow who was suffering through lack of proper care. She had no house and was living in small cattle hut for shelter. When the heavy rains came, the hut fell down.  She was found outside, shivering with cold and wet, and brought to
K H S S C where she is now thriving and helping other widows in Bible reading, songs and prayers.

Stories like this are not uncommon in India, where a caste system still exists. KHSSC Director, Rev. Ramesh Babu says, “Remnant widows also come with same condition but now everyone is getting great comfort and forgot their past life. Here we too are taking much care about them and always trying to give them nice shelter, delicious food mostly growing in the knowledge of God. Really we are so thankful to you and all the [partners] of FTH.”
These widows, once left to die, are finding life, hope, and a reason to live through the care of the staff at KHSSC, and the partners of LeSEA Global Feed the Hungry.
